BFEC's Exco Leadership Team

While the collective leadership of BFEC remains the Council of Elders & Deacons, the Council has empowered the following, who have stepped forward, to serve as the core leadership team of the church. Here's the current Exco and their families.

Brian Koh

Converted at 13, Brian grew spiritually through our Senior Sunday School and involvement in Youth for Christ. Areas of spiritual interest include: family (marriage, children, etc), marketplace (finance) & leadership, church development.

He has served faithfully as Deacon, as our church Treasurer for many years. Also involved in the Bethesda Katong Kindergarten Management Committee, and our church’s Finance & HR committees, Brian & wife Shirley lead a cell of primarily young couples.

They have three children: Boaz, Brenan & Bethelyn. Brian works at National University of Singapore - as Associate Director, NUS Enterprise.

See Toh Ming Yew

Steady & approachable, See Toh started attending BFEC as a young teenager in the Boys' Brigade. He grew spiritually by being involved with the Senior Sunday School & the Adult Training Class (ATC).

He also served as a teacher and Superintendent in SSS, Chairman of ATC and later a mentor to the Young Adults. Presently serving as marriage preparation counsellor, he and his wife, Hui Ing facilitate the Alpha Marriage Course. A Deacon for many years, he is an under-shepherd to a cell group.

See Toh & Hui Ing have Laura, Andrew & Elizabeth. After working at DBS & overseas further studies in the States, he returned to lecture at Singapore Polytechnic.

Alan Goh

Accepted Christ in 1995 in university, worshipping at BFEC since 1996, baptised in Apr 1999. Has since led 3 BCGs. Served as Deacon since 2003. Completed 7 years of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). In charge of our Ushering & Stewards Ministry.

Officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy, currently holding rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Hobbies: Enjoys team sports, travelling & reading.

Passion: Meeting people from diverse backgrounds & learning from their experiences.

Koh Pee Keat

Joined Frankel in 1983 and became a member in 1990. Claims to be blessed with a smooth journey spiritually thus far and thank God for His Grace & Love for him and for his family. Married to Karen Sim since 1990 with children, Samuel and Samantha.

Accepted Christ in 1979 while studying overseas. One day during Iran-Iraq war, this disillusioned undergrad encountered the Lord in a dream, revealing a precise Biblical passage he had never known before. He was comforted by that message & subsequently called upon Jesus as Lord & Saviour. Deacon since 2006. Our current Church Treasurer, he is a cell leader and an under-shepherd to various cells.

Cheok Cheng Jan

Big. Strong. Friendly. Deacon "CJ" accepted Christ through the Alpha programme in HK where he had worked for several years. Since 40 Days of Purpose, he has been undershepherding 5 cell groups. He is also Treasurer at Bible Study Fellowship Classes.

He was responsible for facilitating Cafe Leaf for many years. Recently, he took over from Elder Chua Soon Boon as Church Camp Commandant. Hobbies: Travelling and Golf. Married to Susan; with daughters Sabrina and Jeanine. Current Work: with UOB, as Vice President within the Customer Advocacy and Service Quality Division.

Alex Lo

Alex was born again in 1980 and raised spiritually by the S'pore Poly Navigators where he also served for 10 years. He joined the SSS class taught by Elder Ong Teck Chin. Now an MD of Tech Source Systems, a local software distribution company and member of Christian Business Men’s Committee (CBMC).

Married to Corinne, with 4 children: Joanna, Elina, Deborah & David. A Deacon since 2007 undershepherding 3 cell leaders. Member of Missions Board. Actively involved in Church Camp. A rather meticulous guy who enjoys putting things together - be it personalised camp badges or Jubilee Journals. Passionate about intentional discipleship.

Aaron Soo

Trained and served in Campus Crusade for Christ for several years after NUS, Aaron and his then wife-to-be Shirley were deciding on which church to settle down in. Thank God, they decided on BFEC.

Today, he & Shirley have been serving full time in BFEC since 2006 in the Young Adults, Worship and Teaching & Equipping ministries. His passion: to raise young leaders to be Word-rooted, Spirit-filled & Ministry-skilled, & who will similarly walk with others. For relaxation, he enjoys morning jogs - by that he means no hand phones, no computer, just him & the Lord. It helps, of course, he says, that this also helps him keep trim. ;-)

Danny Chua

Elder Danny is married to Chuey Hoon, with Daryl & Deborah. Accepted the Lord in 1977 during a Young People Group’s (YPG) meeting, where he grew in his faith. Vice-chairman of YPG for several years.

Discipled for 2 years through Navigators "2:7" Discipleship program. Having benefited from the discipleship training, he held 3 consecutive courses for the next 6 years. From mid-1980s, he taught in Junior Sunday School for 8 years before serving as Superintendent for another 4 years. Currently he is the KSS Superintendent. Elder since 2006.

His passion is in the area of discipleship and wholeness ministry. His desire is that members enjoy a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ & are set free from strongholds to fulfill God's destiny in their lives. Currently works for an American firm responsible for the distribution management for Asia Pacific region. He reads profusely, jogs & roller-blades very regularly.

Roland Tan

Roland joined S'pore Campus Crusade for Christ after graduating from NUS in 1974. With a Master of Divinity in the Philippines in 1984, he then served as missionary with his family in Hong Kong & South Korea (1984 - 1988).

Returned to S'pore to serve 10 years with CCC's East Asia regional office, to help develop national leaders in 13 countries including Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Earned a Doctor in Ministry in 1997. National Director of S'pore CCC from 1996 - 2006. Joined East Asia School of Theology (EAST) since July 2006, after raising a good leadership team to care for S’pore CCC. Apart from training others to preach, he also serves to bring theological education to staff in East Asian countries like East Asia & Pakistan. SSS Superintendent for good number of years. Elder since 2006.

Married to Ying Kheng since 1979 & had the gift of Julienne while serving in Hong Kong.

Hobbies: Music, action movies, in-line skating, cycling, housework.

Chua Soon Boon, Caleb

Married to Seow Geok; with Stephanie, Chris, and Zachary. Involved with organizational development work as consultant & management trainer for 20 years. Runs own business since 2003.

Hobbies include: reading, cooking and ("if got money") trying to look around for new places to eat at!

Christian since 1976, learned the Bible through discipleship group & enrolled in Inst. of Biblical Studies under CCC. Joined Frankel during University; baptized on 26 Oct 80. Led cell groups at ATC; Chairman of ATC for 5 years. Best known for organizing church camps almost annually for 6 years. Deacon for many years; Elder in 2006 at age 50. Now discipling 3 guys, shepherding a post-alpha group & a mature group of believers. Trying his best to be involved in weekly visitation. Passion is to understand & preach God’s word for life change.

Jimmy Tan

Jim is married to Monika; with Sharon-Anne & Hannah-Jayne. Came to faith at 11; followed brother to BFEC when Sec 2 in 1977. Grew spiritually in SSS, YFC, ATC, VCF. Baptised in 1980. Cell leader of several groups.

After NUS, joined then SBC as TV Producer of Current Affairs shows. 12 years later, quit to wait upon the Lord; but very soon joined Touch Media to produce movies for local & regional church use. Project Manager with Yellow Ribbon Project last 5 years. Deacon in 1998. Elder since 2006. Joined Frankel Full Time on 1 Apr 2006, helping Council as Dy Chairman plan & coordinate all aspects of church life.

Passion: starting things that help others grow in their potential in Christ. Unwinds in walks, swims, at the beach and in bookshops. Parents Mr & Mrs Tan Kim Suan are also baptized members of our church.

Joshua Quek Mong Hua

Joshua's early Christian influence came whilst studying at ACS. He joined BFEC in 1985 at age 32 after a born again conversion experience. Baptised in 1986, married in 1987 to Ng Bee Poh. Three children, Dorea, Deborah, and David. Lawyer by profession. Senior Partner of Lee & Lee.

Joined a 3C group since 1988; started and led various groups since 1989. Have been Council member since 1990, served as Church Secretary and Deacon and later Chairman of DAB. Chairman of ATC in 1993 - 1994. Appointed Elder in 1998. Assumed appointment as Chairman of Elders Board and Council in Jan 2004.

When not sparring in court, or counselling members pastorally, he unwinds silently in recreational cycling, & enjoys going on short tours with family and friends.
