Sound

• Work out the number of microphones required
• Work out the allocation (Who gets what type of microphones, passing of microphones etc…)

Lights

• Appropriate use of colours
• Effect of colours e.g. what do you get when you mix a blue shirt with yellow lights?

Appropriate placement of equipment

• Get the right sound and light effect
• Does not get in the way (onstage, backstage, and in the control room)

Suitable people who are willing to serve

• Need people to learn and help operate the equipment
• A crew that is willing to spend time at rehearsals

If you are involved as a performer, showhost, in the lights, sound, stage, video or lyrics team for TGBCG (or in general, you are involved in any way for the production of TGBCG), please pencil these dates in your diaries for tentative combined rehearsals. The dates won’t change, but the timings might. Stay tuned.

6 Dec, 2:30 pm – 9:30 pm, First Combined Rehearsal
Objectives: Overall run through, familiarization with cues, first attempt putting together entire program with lights, sound, lyrics, videos and performances.

13 Dec, 2:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Second Combined Rehearsal
Objectives: Fine-tuning of first combined rehearsal, with focus on stage, lights, sound, lyrics and video. SSS Studio Carolers are not around as they are away for SSS camp.

16 Dec, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm, Third Combined Rehearsal
Objective: First full-dress rehearsal

18 Dec, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm, Forth combined rehearsal
Objective: Second and final full-dress rehearsal

19 Dec, 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm, FIRST SHOW

20 Dec, 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm, Fifth and Final Combined Rehearsal (if necessary)

Publicity & Creative Design

We’ve been working hard to try to get the flyer design out. We are proud to report that the design is now with the printer, and he will be rushing it out by Sun! Just in time for the official launch!

Next we’ll concentrate on the publicity details, tickets, cards, programme sheet etc… On 15 Nov, we plan to distribute flyers around the church vicinity to invite our neighbours to the event. We need labourers… as many as we can get. Those involved in singing will be unable to help as they will need to be around for their rehearsals. If you are available, please sign up via the link to the form on the right. Get your friend to help too!

Rehearsals

Rehearsals for the carollers (this is the British spelling) begin on Sun 18 Oct and every Sun thereafter. The other singers will have their own separate rehearsals. The 1st combined rehearsal is scheduled for 6 Dec.

Registration

We hope to have the online registration soft-lunch on 18 Oct when we launch the event. However, the registration booths in church will only be set up from 1 Nov. We will be encouraging e-registration as much as possible. This will help us track the numbers and also consolidate information such as whether dinner or refreshments are required. Keep a look out for more details.

Prayer and Praise

We only have 2 months to go. Pray with us as we continue to firm up the stage design and finalise the MC scripts. Pray that we will spend money wisely, and within the budget. Praise God also that someone has volunteered to not only sponsor 2000 candy canes, but also source for the supplier and arrange the order. Pray that more will come forward to help – both in person and in kind.

Here are some updates on the progress of our work, for your prayer and also for your continued support.

On the area of publicity, brothers Alawn Koh, Aaron Tan, Jeremy Ong, Kong Sing Yeong, Chan Wan Kyn, and sisters Jermain Ong, Joyce Kong and Lim Ai Ling have met up thrice to iron out the design concept, stage layout and costumes. They have also proposed plans to kick off publicity, starting with Jimmy’s message to BFEC come 18 Oct. We thank God for this team who have put together the creative design, Christmas tree concept, and stage.

As for the TGBCG singers, the list is in the midst of being finalised. Practices will begin on 18 Oct after the year-end exams for many of our SSS brothers and sisters.

We have three other groups singing alongside the TGBCG singers. Sisters Koh Chern Ee, Jillyn Ng, Joylyn Ng and Danielle Koh are forming a team to sing Sandi Patti’s ‘In Heaven’s Eyes’. Cheryl Ong and two other of her sisters will sing Point of Grace’s ‘When Love Came Down’. Also to be featured is Point of Grace’s ‘You Will Never Walk Alone’.

In addition to two team of all-female voices, Just Us, led by brother Woon Chin Chang, will make up a 7-strong all-male acapella team. They are slated to minister to us through First Call’s “Forgiven” and a humorous parody of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”.

The show-hosts for all three evenings are Nicholas Poa and Esther Ng. Both are finalizing their script and are in the midst of working on characterization.

Speaker – Praise God that Andrew Goh will be speaking on 19 and 25 December and Jim will speak on 24 December.

Signups – Praise God for the people who have come forward to say that they would like to be involved in this! We praise Him for the team of SSS singers, who have come forward in faith to serve Him as TGBCG singers. We will be contacting all those who have signed up by next week to finalize their involvement and also call for a quick meeting and light makan on 10 Oct.

Studio Band – Sister Sharon Ngoo has managed to involve brothers Jason Sin, Paul Lim and Samuel Ng to sooth all three evenings with cheerful Christmas carols and play the important role as The Studio Band.

Food and Beverage – Husband and wife team, Alan and Stephanie Goh, have agreed to help with the makan for all three evenings.

Prayer is the single and most powerful vehicle we have as we prepare and work this out. We would appreciate your partnership with us as we pray for the following areas:

• Pray that lives will change. Changed lives for our pre-believing family and friends. Changed lives for people in Frankel, who, through their involvement whether directly or indirectly, will experience God in a closer and deeper way.
• Pray that God will call. Calling of the people He wants to come forward and be involved in this Christmas project
• Pray for a Godly working relationship. Brotherly and sisterly-love amongst those who are working on this program
• Pray that we will listen. That those who are leading various aspects of the program to continue to hear Him and do everything in accordance to His will.
• Pray that we will heed His convictions. God to convict everyone of the place we have in this Christmas program, and the pre-believing friend/family we should bring.
• Pray for our plans. For preparation and plans to proceed smoothly and in accordance to His will, especially with some odds and ends that are still waiting to be resolved.
• Pray for the speakers for the evenings. Andrew Goh for 19 and 25 Dec, and Jimmy Tan for 24 Dec, that their message will be in sync with the program and that it will stir the hearts of the pre-believers and His people.
