Tim Chester in "Prayer" (BST series) writes: "Prayer is the conversation of friends. Jesus not only gives us access to God. He makes us family. He invites us to call God "father", while he himself calls us his friends... To say we should seek friendship with the One who created the far reaches of the universe, who is ruler of all history and who dwells in inapproachable light, sounds outrageous.Yet this is the gospel."
In 2010, we want to start with the very essence and importance of prayer as "the conversation of friends". After the Open Topic on 3 Jan, we will examine, in 4 parts, the very biblical foundations of prayer. Then in the first two weeks of Feb, let us learn from the prayer life of Nehemiah.
