Philippians 3:12-14 -- I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18-19 -- “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

We are NOT to forget His ___________ (Ps 103:2). We are NOT to forget His _____________ (Ps 119).

Yet if I am still ___________ to my past, I cannot _____________ to the present and I cannot ______________ to the future.

The antidote to being ____________ by the past is to be _________________ by faith in His promises, purposes and possibilities.

Questions for Personal & Group Reflection
  1. In the sermon, you heard of 4 areas of the past that often hinder us from pressing on. Which are do you struggle with the most? Take time now to give that to the Lord and see His deliverance and help.

  2. Perhaps you are expecting God to do a "former thing" when in fact He has a "new thing" in mind for you (Isa 43:18,19). Ask the Lord for grace to listen to His voice and respond in faith during this camp.
