Biography

JOHN TING has been an honorary pastor at Adam Road Presbyterian Church (ARPC) since 2001. He came to evangelical faith in 1960 through the ministry of OCF Sydney.

After a period of high school teaching in Sydney, John went in 1968 as a first batch student to Discipleship Training Centre (DTC) where he met and married his classmate Frances from Hong Kong. After further studies John returned in 1973 with his family to join the DTC faculty. He taught at DTC until 1991 serving the last five years as Assistant Dean.

For thirty years John was also heavily involved in the drug and prison ministry in Singapore.

From 1992-2000 John served in Sydney in his home church, Sydney Chinese Presbyterian Church, as the co-senior minister before returning to DTC as Dean.

John retired as Dean in June 2009.

John and Frances have three grown up children.
