Joseph Chean (YWAM)

our guest speaker, Joseph Chean is the national director of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Singapore, a global movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation.

Joseph is married to Kim and has two lovely girls, Olivia and Ashley. He attends and serves Chapel of the Holy Spirit, an Anglican church where he served as a youth pastor and Chaplain’s Assistant in St. Andrew’s Secondary School for 8 years (1989-1997). During that time, he also pioneered Eternal Splashes, a creative arts outreach ministry that trains and disciples youth to do street evangelism in Singapore.

He joined YWAM since 1997 and has served in various leadership roles before assuming the role of National Director of YWAM Singapore in 2012.

A man of tremendous vision, Joseph Chean leads YWAM Singapore to align with God’s unique call upon Singapore as the Gateway to Asia. He sees his part as being a bridge and a catalyst, compelled by love and purpose-driven by a revelation of God’s zeal for Asia. Joseph’s dream is to see the whole earth be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea [Habakkuk 2:14] and to see all of Asia radiant with His glory [Ezekiel 43:1-2].

To Joseph, pleasing the Father’s heart, rightly representing His character are non-negotiable of the Christian walk. Obeying the Father and fulfilling His agenda in his generation are a joyful privilege. A servant at heart, an anointed worship leader, articulate speaker, and skillful trainer, Joseph wants to bridge the Christian world to come serve God’s dream for Asia.

Joseph preaches, mobilizes and does missions training in Churches and YWAM Bases in Singapore and worldwide. The message that burns in his heart is “intimacy with God in hearing and obeying His voice”, “father heart of God”, “the Biblical mandate to disciple a nation” and “God’s glory in Asia” – a prophetic call to the Body of Christ to catch a glimpse of what God is doing and to align ourselves to what God wants to do in Asia.
