Ng Geok Chye & Cheok Cheng Jan

Ng Geok Chye is a Deacon and co-opted Elder at Bethesda Frankel Estate Church.
He has been married to Nancy since 1982 (33 years) and have two adult children, Samuel who is married to Kuan Mei, and Esther.
He started attending BFEC around 1978-79
He is currently serving in the Evangelism ministry and helping with the Compass ministry.
He had worked 30 years with SATS, and is currently retired.
He enjoys a game of golf with friends, and watching History and Discovery channel during free time.


Cheok Cheng Jan or "CJ" as he is better known, accepted Christ in 1983 and experienced a "revival" in 1997 through the Alpha programme in Hong Kong where he had worked for several years. He rejoined BFEC after his return from Hong Kong around 2000 and was in charge of Cafe Leaf for many years, as well as Camp Commandant, cell leader and under-shepherd. After serving for many years, he stepped down as deacon this year.
From his background in the banking industry, it was natural that he got involved with Compass ministry (since 2013) and is currently their Director of Asia Pacific Service Center & Singapore.
Married to Susan since 1988 (27 years), he has two daughters, Sabrina and Jeanine.
His favourite past-times are swimming and golf, and enjoys attending bible classes.

Roland Tan & James Sim

Elder Roland Tan is an elder at BFEC. Together with wife Ying Kheng and daughter Julienne, they serve as teachers in BFEC's youth ministry, Grow@Noon.

Since 1974, Dr. Roland Tan has been a full-time staff of Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ (now called Cru-Singapore) and served as the National Director of Cru-Singapore from 1996-2006. He is now a dean at Cru's East Asia School of Theology (EAST) where he trains Christian leaders in Personal Leadership and coordinates theological education of Cru's field staff and pastors in East Asia.


James Sim has been attending BFEC since and was baptised here in 1998.
He is a business man and is the director for Compass Asia Pacific Service Centre.
He is married to Jessie and they will be celebrating 29 years of marriage this November.
They have 2 boys, Kevin (27) & Kenny (24). I grandson Kaeden (4).
His favourite past-time is Golf.

Hoong Ngee Khoon

Hoong Ngee Khoon is the Chairman of the Board of Director of Compass – finances God’s Way Asia Pacific, a worldwide non-profit interdenominational ministry that teachers people of all ages how to handle money based on the principles of the Bible. Before that, he was the National Director of Crown Financial Ministries – China from October 2004 to October 2012. He has spoken at conferences and taught at seminars/workshops on God’s financial principles and always enjoy leading small groups and teaching youth and children classes.

Ngee Khoon is the founder of Promiseway, a business as and for mission, and is currently an executive with Verizon, a global telecommunication service provider. He consults regularly with executives from various fields including financial services, information technology and communications. Prior to his current position, he rendered his services at Tiaxa, Intellectual Ventures, Motorola, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CapGemini), Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and Arthur Andersen (Andersen). He has also been an entrepreneur running his family businesses in internet start-up, Chinese fast-food, ship supplier/chandler and bowling alley.

Ngee Khoon completed his Master of Business Administration at University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, United States of America where he received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics for Commerce) from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Raised in Singapore, Ngee Khoon lived with his wife of 25 years, Mei Lin and his two sons, Benjamin (23) and Benaiah (15) in Beijing, China for more than 10 years. They worshiped at Beijing
International Christian Fellowship where Ngee Khoon served as an Elder. They have relocated back to Singapore and worship at Bethesda (Frankel Estate) Church. Ngee Khoon serves as cell group leader, football ministry and youth ministry – GROW@Noon.

Rev Jeffrey Tay

Rev Jeffrey Tay is the Ministry Coordinator for Alpha Singapore.

He is married with 4 children (ages 20, 12, 11, & 9)

He started in the ministry in 1985, and has been pastoring since 1987.

He has a diploma in Christian Studies from The Graduate School of Theology (Reformed) and a Masters of Divinity from Theological Centre for Asia.

He was ordained in 2007 under the Chinese Church Union of Singapore and is a member of the Hakka Methodist Church.

He has pastored many churches (7) (some of which he planted), pioneered the China Construction Worker Ministry in Singapore in 1990, and is currently the advisor of the Taxi Drivers' Fellowship of Singapore.


Liew Heng San

Our guest speaker, Mr Liew Heng San, serves on the Board of the Singapore Bible College and as Chairman of the World Vision Singapore Advisory Council, among other corporate responsibilities. 

He is married with three sons and worships at the Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church.

Before his retirement after over 30 years of public service, he held the appointments of CEO of the CPF Board, PS(Law), MD EDB and CE of LTA
