Henry Tan

Brother Henry and Evangeline Tan has been attending BFEC since 2000. Their children Abel, Abigail and Abram were students of Bethesda Katong Kindergarten. Besides his immediate family, Henry and Evangeline count their cell group members as their ‘extended family’: Weng Yin and Choy Yoke, William and Pik Pink, Belinda, Pik Keem, Guek Beng, Kok Leong and YY, Justin and Joy, Mei and Yoon Kee, Andrew and Erin, Harry and Li Soon, and Wing Kong and Do Hui. This cell group came together many years ago, during one of BFEC’s bible study series on Purpose Driven Life. This CG continues to meet regularly to fellowship, eat together, study Scriptures, serve in local and overseas mission, and pray together.

While studying in the US, Henry was active in the International Student Christian Fellowship and was involved in Vacation Bible Schools among the Native Americans children in Toppenish, Washington. In recent years, Henry has been involved in the IP Ministry led by brother Patrick and Florence; participated in the Japan Mission to Hanamaki led by Elder Melville and Salome, and joined one of the China Bible Distribution Missions led by Elder Teck Chye and Helen.

For the past 3 years, many parents and youths from JSS and Grow@Noon, and fellow brethren from BFEC and other churches have been involved in supporting Pastor Ishak and Rebecca’s ministry among youths, low-income families, and the prison community in Tanjong Balai, Indonesia. Project Karimun was started by sister Lee Fen and Chris, and the Prison Fellowship International, with the purpose of bringing the gift of faith to the people of Karimun island – so that together as a body of believers saved by grace, we could be salt and light to the local community and beyond.
