Jesus Club

Jesus Club

Jesus Club is a ministry that caters for people with special needs, such as Down Syndrome, autism, developmental delay and any other kind of intellectual impairment. We aim to provide an opportunity for our members to meet together, establish friendships, have fun and learn about Jesus.

Our aim at Jesus Club

It is a sad fact that people living with disabilities often miss out on hearing about Jesus, and hence miss out on accepting God and His gift of eternal life. Jesus Club exists because of the specific attention needed to teach this population.

Our main aim at Jesus Club is to teach the members as much as they can learn about Jesus. We want to make Jesus Christ known among people with special needs through teaching the good news about Jesus Christ and providing practical care. Our great hope is that our members will put their trust in Jesus Christ and enjoy friendship with him forever.

History of Jesus Club in Singapore

2013 was the first year of Jesus Club in Singapore. Grace Lim volunteered at Jesus Club in Gladesville, Australia, while her husband, Lincoln Mao, was studying at Moore College.  After returning to Singapore, they decided to start a local Jesus Club in Singapore at Bethesda Church Bukit Arang.

On 5 July 2017, together with Fann Tay, they began a second Jesus Club at Bethesda Frankel Estate Church.

What happens at Jesus Club

A typical Jesus Club session begins with games and chatting. A lesson from the Bible is taught, using a range of visuals and songs. Members then break up into smaller groups to discuss what they have learnt. The night is completed with delicious refreshments and a fun activity.
