Other Key Ministries

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

Social Concern

This ministry provides financial help to needy families within the Frankelite community and organizations that minister to the less fortunate. Frankelites are also involved as volunteers individually or in ad hoc projects in the following work: organising resources for people in disadvantaged position (e.g. poor & needy & those who disabled by illnesses, etc.) by teaching, training and providing the opportunity to the community to support themselves. Other works include helping the poor in other countries, helping under-privileged youths, assisting in family & related matters, and being involved with elderly & related social work, migrant workers & Prisons (Alpha). Pray for our Social Action Thrust core group as we seek to develop the “social thrust” of our church further.

Teaching & Equipping

The Teaching & Equipping ministry (T&E) envisions members to become Christ-like, living a life based upon a renewed value, belief system and lifestyle. This should be reflected in our relationships, whether we bear fruit, and having a willingness to be discipled and to disciple others. The T&E ministry has 2 tracks namely the regular ongoing tracks (Class 101 Discovering our church membership and Shepherds’ Staff), and special one-off tracks (The 2011 Word Festival and 40-Days of Community) to help achieve the above objectives. This attempts to provide a comprehensive programme that ministers to all adult levels.

Church Library

Founded in 1973, the BFEC library has books that cover a wide range of subjects including: Doctrinal Theology, Old and New Testament Commentaries, Prayer, Discipleship, Apologetics, Stewardship, Marriage, Parenting, Women etc. CDs of songs for children, female and male vocalists, worship and musicals etc. are available. Our VCDs & DVDs include animation series for children and evangelistic dramas. As a resource centre for the cell-groups, we also have in our collection Bible study materials. These range from book studies, topical studies and character studies, to DVDs—all available for group viewing and discussion. There are also some DVDs to enhance the personal as well as corporate worship of members.

The BFEC library is located on the 3rd floor and it opens on Sundays from 9.45am to 1.00pm.

Creative media has the power to inspire. BFEC requires various types of media to improve communications with the community. The website helps improve communications with the first-time guest and the faithful Frankelite. It provides potential visitors with a good overview of the church, and church members with regular updates and spiritual resources. ‘The Franklite’ is the quarterly news magazine and it serves as a medium of information on church activities. It also publishes articles that encourage and edify the church. Formerly known as ‘SCOPE’, the magazine has been a feature of the church for decades. As part of its revamping process, it is presently taking a short hiatus. Writers, editors, photographers and designers move the BFEC website, magazine and other media (e.g. posters, videos, slide announcements etc.) to its God-intended purposes in the community.

Tech Crew

The Tech Crew is an important component of the worship team. They are a dedicated team of people with a sense of wanting to give of their best, and a desire to serve behind the scenes so that the worship team can lead the congregation in worshipping God without distraction.

There are 3 main roles

1) The sound engineer has an innate sense of what worship music should sound like. They control the sound mixer, and balance the various instruments and vocals to allow the worship team to lead the congregation in worship sounding their best.

2) The projectionist has a good sense of rhythm and timing, and is often an accomplished musician in his/her own right. They often are the real worship leaders and they operate the PC to get the lyrics out there in time for the worship team to sing it.

3) The video team have a good sense of composition in operating the video cameras, and know how to make the people sitting in the overflow rooms or watching the video from home feel like they are right there in the main hall with everyone else.

BFEC CARES Ministry

All of us experience times of difficulties, transitions and crisis in our lives. Having someone who cares enough to journey with us in a caring, Christ-centred relationship can ease these experiences of confusion, frustration, stress, loneliness, etc. BFEC Caregivers are committed Christian laypersons trained and commissioned to be a supporting presence to people going through difficult time in life. If you are going through a stressful time, do consider allowing a BFEC Caregiver to walk with you on your journey to wholeness. Or, if you know of someone who needs a Caregiver, you could introduce the person to BFEC Cares Ministry.
