Ethan has been attending BFEC since 1993. He grew up in a freethinking family and is the first to know the LORD. Although he grew up just five minutes’ walk away from BFEC, he never set foot in it until he was eventually brought to BFEC by his girlfriend now wife Vanessa who had been fervently praying for him, the guy waiting outside church, with her youth group at the time.
He is now an Elder at BFEC, a board member of Bethesda Katong Kindergarten (BKK), a member of the Faith@Home movement and also served in BFEC’s worship ministry. He will readily confess that he did not know what he was getting into and merely stepped out in faith when the LORD led him to serve in the Kampong Siglap Lifeskills Training and Retreat Centre in 2018 as Chair of its Management Committee. He is also the founding chair of the BKK Parent Support Group.
Ethan and Vanessa have two children, Elliot and Elisha, who calls him “the long minute man”. His professional occupation takes him to the far end of the island at Nanyang Technological University where he helps the future generations of Singapore learn through work.
